My Favorite Cowboy (Heart of Texas #3)

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

This is the book of the youngest Harper sibling. And man! When Ms. Grants contemporary you will be shocked. It is really different from her PNR books. There is a certain degree of words, of the over all effect when she writes on this genra.

I love how this book was written, and how each of the previous people on the last book added an element to it.

We can understand where Caleb is coming from, at the same time, there is the weight of Audrey’s problem. Two wounded people, and look at the outcome?

A beautiful book that makes us realize that no matter the hurt a person cause, we should forgive them. It will take a while, but the result is phenomenal.

I do not know if this is the last book of the series, but I do hope, Jase and Copper? will have their own HEA.

Cowboy, Cross My Heart (Heart of Texas #2)

Cowboy, Cross My Heart by Donna Grant

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

This is the second book of the series, and I must say, I had to read book one. I mean, I was like, ” Wait, What?!” then after reading the last chapter of book one I was like, oh…

Honestly, it was confusing, because it took a while for the details to fully be absorbed by my brain. There were some lapses on my part, I had to re read the whole page just to understand what was happening. Do not worry, the story line was pretty interesting and so far more shocking, that I had to stop reading at some point.

As for the romance? I like the way it was laid out, but, there was something missing. No, i do not know what I was looking for, but I liked how things ended.

The best part? Clayton. He is the that bad** guy that I fell in love and so protective. It was such a good way to see how Abby and him after the events of book one.

I look forward in reading the 3rd book in this series.

Through the Fire (Rocky Mountain K9 Unit, #4)

Through the Fire
by Katie Ruggle

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

If i am not mistaken, this will be the end of this particular series. And as ending goes, this was really something!

It was hard and it was funny at the same time. They have to keep secrets from Kit, at the same time be a good team mate to her. It had these moments that I want to throttle Theo and the rest of the guys…they were so..Uh!

Wes, on the other hand, is something else. I so love his bat cave…or tower? and the way he got close to the twins was also good.

All in all it was endearing and fun, and full of action! And i love it! Another good work with this series @KatieRuggle! I will be reading the other book!

Set the Night on Fire (Cottonbloom, #6)

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

The thing that I like about this book, is how Mack started the healing process..or rather how he ended what the twins have started…

Ella, has this independent thing going on, that it made her doubt any man or person who does something good to her with their motives. However, everyone needs someone to lean on to. Her personality is something that I really like, there are no frills with her.

Mack on the other hand? The two of them have something in common, but they click. And it was a so beautiful to watch them fall for each other.

With every pain the people we love gave us, there is always a lasting scar that not all can see. Physical pain can be mended, but the ones that we cannot see are the hardest to heal. They say times heals all wounds, but in reality, not matter how much time pass, if you cannot over come the pain, the hurt, the betrayal, and the suffering, you can never heal. It takes more than time to be whole again.

Looking forward to reading the other books in the series.

The Blurb- (1)

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

This is the first time I had read this author and any of her books, but i can say wow!

As the first book of the series, this is a good way to introduce the characters.

For the main people in the book, and the story line, it is a wonderful and such a H-O-T way to meet.

The emotions of Emma and Shep was really something to read about. Yeah, the way the thought and how they are attracted to each other was so hot, but you can see how much Shep, cared for Emma. It was so effing sweet that there are times that it made me tear up. I especially love the lines. They were so full of knowledge, that somehow, if you were in their shoes, you will definitely understand where is person is coming from.

There might be a light BDSM, but, the focal point to the story is there. Trust. Once you have lost it, it would be hard to win it again. No matter how hard you tried, a broken glass can never be whole again. The cracks are there to remind us of the past mistake.

I look forward to reading the next book of the series.

The Blurb- (2)

Emma spun on her heels, opened her mouth, then promptly closed it. All sadness fled in a millisecond.

Leaning against the doorframe, Shep wore only his jeans, no shirt in sight. Oh my fucking God. Dream Shep had nothing on the real thing. Anyone could tell that Shep worked hard for a living. He didn’t seem the type of man that would spend hours in the gym, indicating his job was the reason he was built for hard labor. His wide shoulders, squared chest, gloriously perfect six-pack with deep ridges made for exploring fingers—all of it was mouthwateringly hot.

His voice deepened into a low rumbly tone. “Darlin’, you really need to stop looking at me like that.”

She lifted her gaze to his potent stare. Heat rose to her cheeks. “I’m sorry.”

“Don’t be sorry.” The side of his mouth curved, like he knew the power he had over her. “I happen to enjoy watching you eye-fuck me, but you’re making it hard for me to be a gentleman.”

Her knees weakened, heart raced. How tempting it was to engulf this fiery passion burning between them, not run from it. And how confusing was that? No more casual sex, wasn’t that what she said? She knew where relationships like that ended up, nowhere good. Yet, her mouth parted, and out came, “What if I don’t want you to be a gentleman?”

Something fierce crossed his expression then, darkening his eyes. He stepped forward, bringing all that strong manly heat in close. He smelled of rain and wood and all that was perfect in this world. He dipped his head, and all she had to do was reach out and touch him. “What exactly do you want from me, Emma?” His lips were right there. His naked flesh, right there. “Do you want me to take control of you and roughly take what’s mine for the night?”

His sexy smile revealed a horrible truth. She nearly melted into the floor. “Oh, dear Lord, I told you about my dream?” Please say no. Please say no.

He lifted his hand, gently dragging his knuckles across her cheek. “Ah, but I happen to like that dream you had and shared with me.” He slid his thumb across her chin, tilting her head up to stare deeply into his gorgeous eyes. “You still haven’t answered me. Do you want me to kiss you slowly, savoring every little bit of your mouth?” His thumb brushed across the plumpest part of her bottom lip. “Or shall I punish you with my kiss, making you regret that you ever turned me down?” The heat of his body sizzled against her as he leaned in closer, his warm breath across her mouth. “Tell me, Emma, shall I tie you up with my ropes like I already have? Do you remember what that felt like? Did you like it, sweetheart?”

“You know I liked it,” she managed, breathless.

His grin was pure sin. “You’re right, I do know that.” He dragged his knuckles over her flushing cheek again, seemingly touching her soul-deep. Her mouth parted, breaths became heavier when he ran the pads of his fingers slowly down her arms, the power he exuded like a wall of strength in front of her. “Tell me, Emma,” he finished.

The words nearly fell out of her mouth. She wanted to experience his brand of passion. She got the feeling if she let go with him, he’d deliver where others had failed. Almost as if he’d take away all the pain, all the confusion, and silence her fears.

Her mouth parted to say, Make me forget it all. The words died in her throat. Her fears were bigger and stronger than her desire. She’d been fooled by one man before. The icy cold reminder still splintered her heart, there and unavoidable. “I can’t,” she said softly.

“You can’t.” There was no disappointment in his voice, only firmness. “Then I can’t.”

He took her hand into the strength of his, and she slowly opened her eyes, her breath catching at the contained power in his expression.

Shep breathed sex and passion, and the danger of him presented itself to her. Causal sex was one thing, but she got the feeling Shep didn’t do causal sex. He was pure emotion, total connection, and all intimacy. He’d wrap her up emotionally and take everything she had, and when he was finished with her, he’d demand more.

With his eyes locked onto hers, he led her from the bedroom. Once in the hallway, he turned to her, leaned in, and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. “Good night, Emma.”

She could finally breathe again. “Good night, Shep.”

Then with that blazing-hot gaze pinning her to where she stood, he shut the bedroom door, leaving her, and all her thoughts, alone in the quiet hallway.

The Blurb- (1)

There is a reason why I do not like reading Contemporary Romance.

This was the 5th book of the series, and I thought I had to read the rest of the series to understand it, but it had it own tear jerking story.

The book is about running away and confronting your past. Each turn of the page, gave us a glimpse of how Willa had live, and her reasons for running away.

Sadly, this is the truth in today’s youth. They tend to run away, than facing the consequence of their actions. Sometimes, when people face their problems head on, they are greeted by criticism by the people around them. They will look at how you live your life, rather than doing something about theirs. At some point, when you confront them of the truth, they are blinded, hence, they will not listen.

I like how this book was written. How each events lead to the beautiful ending that was presented. Things like this may not happen in real life, but the fact that we can read about it gives us a chance to look forward to.

I would like to read what will happen to Mack.

Rugged Texas Cowboy (Cowboys and Captives #1-2)

ARC was given by the publishers via NetGalley.

I was not actually expecting to review this author, so I was glad that I was able to read her.

Book one has this powerful effect on me. The way the parents handled their children was something. Added to the fact that something happened to affect the attitude towards the older child, Melina. She did her best to loved by her parents only to be put under the bus over and over again. Jardin, on the other hand was so full of hate of Maria, that he cannot see past it. He was able to but well. not without repercussion.

This book centers on a heirloom that was left by Angel’s mother, and Jack, buying it because he was judge for who he is. It was kinda disappointing. The reality of the situation was not lost on the book. People often judge other on based on what happened and what they see. However, hasty judgement can cause consequences that could ultimately affect everyone’s lives. I like this, how Jack did what he said, and the ending was something else too.

I look forward to reading more books from this Author.
