Dark Alpha’s Awakening (Reaper, #7)

There is no escaping a Reaper. I am an elite assassin, part of a brotherhood that only answers to Death. And when Death says your time is up, I’m coming for you…

Serving Death and the Reapers has been my life for centuries. I’ve always put my duty before everything, even my yearning for Death. But now, she’s fading – our foe is bent on destroying her and he will stop at nothing until he does. Death holds the key to our survival. I will do everything in my power to stop her from disappearing. For her, I will ensure we have the best fighting chance. For her…I will cross the divide keeping us apart.

This is a full length Reaper novel.

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.
The 48th book of the Dark World series…
I had to count it from Donna Grant’s website.
I remember the time when I started reading the Dangerous Highlander (Dark Sword #1) that was September 25, 2014, after that I was hooked. The story was so compelling that it was hard not to be affected by the characters of each of the world. When the first Reaper book was sent to my email for an early review, I never thought that I would be so emotional.
I’m going to put a verse in this review…not to be religious or anything, but this fits this book to a tee:
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
I finished the book last night, and I knew that I need something powerful to convey my feeling without the having spoilers. And this verse, fits.
It is rare to read a series with may spinoffs and have this cohesive flow. Jumping from book to another, mentioning the same characters, but with different words. It is hard. However, Donna Grant was able to bring fort a world where everything magical has a connection. Yes, The Kings, The Warriors, the Fea ~ both Dark and Light~, the Druids, and the Reapers…also the humans combined to become one of the greatest series that I have read.
I know a there will be more books…and i know that i will be looking forward to it.
More power and Blessing! I look forward to every book that you will write.

Dragonfire (Dark Kings, #14)

37638062Passion burns hot in Dragonfire, the next Dark Kings novel from New York Times bestseller Donna Grant.

It was a soul-deep longing, one that got into his bones and settled there, sending whispers of desire through him. The need, the hunger, grew tenfold with every breath. . . .

As a Dragon King, Roman is sworn to protect all mortals–even though they no longer believe in dragons. But deep in the Carpathian Mountains, he discovers a beautiful and mysterious gypsy who possesses the power to see into his very soul. To reignite the fire in his heart. And to help him find the long-lost sword that could save the dragons forever…

Sabina remembers the stories her grandmother told her. Legends of dragons and kings, fire and ice. And she’s never forgotten the dark prophecy that filled her ancestors with fear–a fate they tried to prevent by stealing a Dragon King’s sword. Sabina knows that helping Roman is dangerous. He is a dragon betrayed, and more powerful than any man. He could destroy her in a single fiery embrace. But how can she resist the longing in his eyes–or the feelings in her heart–when their destinies are bound by desire?

The Blurb- (1)
I know, it took me some time to review this book. Honestly, it was such a good book that I had to process my mind on how to write everything. For one, it made me want to read ALL the DK books again. I mean with all the revelation and stuff, there must be a clue who Rhi’s DK is…at the same time, i felt i just have to wait and see.

Dragonfire holds so much info that you need to fully immersed yourself to Donna’s world just to keep track of what is happening. Reading and truly understanding the way each the characters behave gave me insight and on how their life was. Each of the Dark world series was imbued to each other to have this complex world where we read about dragons, the warriors, the druids, and the fae.

The question is, will there be another series connected to this? Or will the Dark Series be at its end?

Nevertheless, this is one good book to read. My review may not look like a review to some, but with everything that is happening, should i just focus on the romantic side of the book? I think not.

I will not call her queen, because she is not one..her time will come, and I will be sooo happy to read what the future hold with her. For the other issues, they will have their time. But i dare say, having Ulrik back was the best decision EVER! Con needs a confidant, and with him around, we get to see Con as a normal king would react to the things happening around him. And it made me long to hug him. The burden he carries is too great, and with Ulrik by his side once more, i hope that it will lessen.

New dragons…means new books…the same with the Reaper…let us hope these new people can help to whatever the future will hold.
