SEAL Defender by Leslie North

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

~ARC from NetGalley.~

This is a new series from Ms. North. Three ex-SEALs that are faced with difficult regarding the deaths of some former SEALs.

Book one is really nice. I mean, I am having a hard time making this review, because my thought would be offensive to some, I would rather stay silent than, have people criticize me due to my thoughts.

The reality of the situation is true, not just in this book but also from across the world. Racism is a kind of mentality that some people cannot accept. From religion, to nationality, and it irritates me that other are judge because of what they are and they choices they made…

This book, I can say wow. I wanted to hit Mark a couple time during the course of the book. I mean come on! Geneva? I like her. I mean she is the kind of reporter that I want my younger sister to be, She has this backbone and the way she tried to look for the reasons…she wants people to be aware. However, she never imagine that she would be in the middle of things…and she would fall in love.

I love their compound. I mean from the way it was described I would to attend one of their classes.

All in all, the series opens up to some things that we generally know. It is actually hard to be in the situation of these ex- SEALs, and the other branches of the government that protects the civilians. Having the right kind help would go a long way. No matter what country we live, being part of the defense system is never easy.

I look forward in reading the next book in the series.

The Review:

Dark-Alpha's-Lover-H&H-728x90

~ARC given by the publisher, via NetGalley.~

The 4th book of the series, and the action gets better and better.

From the start to the end it was as exciting as the previous books.

There was not much when it comes to the romance. For me, I noticed that is more on the focus on why Cat’s family is being targeted by the Fae. I actually liked how this was written. It was a mite fast, but the details are there.

Fintan? It was like a “Wow…” moment with me. Never have I thought that he would have such a dark past. It was saddening and at the same time frightening that he was molded to such a world, then to be betrayed by the person who he severed.

Both came from a past that made them who they are, and yet, with all that was happening around them, it was only a matter of time before they find their way to each other’s arms.

Not much is reviled with our favorite Fae, but new connections are formed. However, which among those connections will come to fruition?

I cannot wait to read the nest book in the series. May it be the Reapers or the Dark Kings. The connection between the two worlds are slowly coming to a circle. But, there are still some gaps that needs to be filled. And Cael, will his feeling for Death will bloom? ~Yeah I know…If you read the books from one to four, its there. However, their story, if they will have one, will be more rougher and more deadlier than the rest. Is is just a mere speculation, as for the rest, lets have Ms. Grant weave her magic.

I rate this 4.5

My Sugar Daddy: Book One in the Sugar Daddies Series
My Sugar Daddy: Book One in the Sugar Daddies Series by Trinity Blacio

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

~ARC via NetGalley.~

So, this is the first time I have read her book. I must say, there is one twist after another. And i do not believe that I did not see those coming.

The first few chapter made me think of the KGI series of Ms. Maya Banks. I love that series, and with the same mind set, I truly enjoyed those thoughts of mine as I continue to read. However,  as I continue to read, the I can see how this book is different. Yes, it is a family operated firm, but it goes beyond it.

The coupling? it was such wow! I was already expecting a triad, since I am not a newbie with the world of ménage, this I was not expecting what I read.

The combination of family love and some very very nefarious people experimenting with alien DNA really gave this book a boost for me. The twist just keep mounting up. Let me tell you, I really enjoyed this up to the very end.

This is not your ordinary military romance. The mere fact the Wilmot family rescued the people that were experimented on the book was something. For some, my words will be a bit shallow, but the overall plot is really good. I look forward in reading the rest of this series.

This was the beginning of the series. I actually like how this was written. Ms. Carter never fails to amaze me. The simple way she writes is good and there are times that I would like to read more of the current book. Then, I realize, making it long will ruin the over all effect.

Since this is the start of the series, it was okay. However, I really like how Jj and Lyssa, interacted. There was a certain chemistry and their feeling was like wow!

I enjoyed this and looking forward to reading the next book.

Okay…so I was kinda lost on this one.

I really liked this series. So are the Silver Wolf Pack. However, I am not really sure how to truly feel with this one. The main theme is the same with CJ’s mate. There is still the inn. Then Brett, gave a piano… not not just that. From there, all sort of things started to happen. Some were nice, some were not. But the way the story was written was an okay one for me.

There is not much, other than you can really feel how the pack works in this book. Especially the quad. Since, Eric, CJ, and now Brett is mated, all that is left is Sarando? Not sure of the spelling. Looking forward to read his book!

The Lady and the Highlander (A Highland Fairy Tale #3)

The Lady and the Highlander
The Lady and the Highlander by Lecia Cornwall

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

~ARC was given by the publisher, via NetGalley.~

The 3rd boo of the “A Highland Fairytale” series. We had Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, and now Snow White.

From the start of the book, it was quite intriguing. There were the elements of magic, and it sounded so mystical. I as read the book, I was like expecting some kind of Snow White type of story. However, I was surprise on the flow of the story.

It was good in a refreshing kind of way. Iain’s curse, was more likely a promise. And Laire? I like her. She is just like her father, fierce and loyal to her family. I wanted to hate Iain, but somehow, the way he tried his best to protect Laire shows what his true feeling.

I was truly amaze with Laire though. She may look like a fragile flower, but her skills with a knife is something that was mind blowing. I was actually laughing when Iain was caught.

The unexpected way this was written gave it a good story. The way the rest of characters were introduce was something else too.

Their love for one another was really good. He was afraid of what will happen to her, and he really did his best to protect her. However, as the daughter of the Fierce Laird MacLeod, she is more capable of withstanding any obstacles thrown in her way.

The ending? It was good. I love it.

I never liked reading fairy tales. For me it is a mite shallow and superficial. But the way Lecia Cornwall, re imagine them, with the Scottish touch, makes it interesting. The dept of the characters makes each story more believable than the ones we are used to.

I look forward to the next book!
