Heart of the Wolf Series Book 15, 16 & 17

Okay, so no, this is not box set they are individual books. I just combined all of them because each book is from a different wolf packs but they sure have connection to each other.

A Highland Wolf Christmas

(Heart of the Wolf #15)

Centers on the wolf pack in Scotland. Here we are encounter Guthrie MacNeill, the last mateless brother of the MacNeill pack. We are given Calla, a childhood friend of the four brothers. She was introduce on book 11 of the series. From what happened to her, she had been staying at the MacNeill land for protection against her former fiance.

As the story progress, it is revealed that Guthrie had always liked Calla, and he was mistaken that Calla was interested with one of the his bothers since they seemed close, But again, too much assumption will lead to a wrong impression. It’s a good thing that Calla was the one who actually liked Guthrie.

The problem the two of them needed to over come, is common when it comes to relationships. However, in this case, it came to be extreme in Calla’s case. At the end, the result was satisfactory. The bad guys died, when they had it coming, but then again, I wondered…would the wolf pack that was mentioned in this series..could one of them have a happy ending?

SEAL Wolf Hunting

(Heart of the Wolf #16)

In this series, we are once again, back to the US. This time, we are going to read a story about one of Hunter’s SEAL team. Paul. If you can recall from book 3 and 9, this particular wolf was a former SEAL, Paul was first introduce as someone who wears a button down shit that has pink flamingos printed on  them. What came as a surprise was he is the son of the pack leader in their hometown. Paul was raised by Allan’s mother, which, in a sense, makes brother not by blood but by heart.

In this book, we are given a glimpse on how Paul decided to be the leader of their pack. And how his mate and Allan’s mother handled the pack when they are not in attendance. The way they were thrown together was a bit extreme, but it did the job.

I love how Lori’s Grandmother manipulated the situation, it was heartfelt and the way how the problems were dealt was really good. Several problem arose in this book, but it was more like how would Paul resolved each of those problems.

In the end, everything was resolved.

A Silver Wolf Christmas

(Heart of the Wolf #17)

On the 17th book of the series, we are back to the Silver wolf pack. Here, Darien’s cousin found his mate…and the twist in this story just keeps on getting interesting.

I had reading this book. Namely because CJ was one of the youngest wolf cousin of Darien that came back to their fold after the incident with their father. If you are not aware of the reason, I suggest you read book 2 of the series.

Ghost. Who would have though that this scenario would be used in a PNR book. Nevertheless, it made the story a little interesting to read. Also, the way the stor came back to how CJ’s father got involved in the death of some was really something else. Even me, as a reader; I want to kill him over again.

Then again, we can never really tell if a person is good or not.

However, in this book. The out come was really good. Families are reunited and love is found.

As you can see, in Ms. Terry’s series, we are presented with different wolf packs. One in Scotland and at least five, not counting the Arctic wolves. She was able to inter twine each of the packs. How? That is for you to find out as a reader. There are parts wherein you want to give up reading the series, but I assure you, once conversation picks up, the story looks better.

As for now, I am currently reading the ARC of SEAL Wolf In Too Deep (Heart of the Wolf, #18) . It will be out on February 2. This story focuses on Paul’s second, and also a part of Hunter’s SEAL Team ~ Allan.

Caedmon Wolves ~ A Wolf Shifter Paranormal Romance 6-Book Collection

Caedmon Wolves ~ A Wolf Shifter Paranormal Romance 6-Book Collection
Caedmon Wolves ~ A Wolf Shifter Paranormal Romance 6-Book Collection by Ambrielle Kirk

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was able to buy this six book collection free from Amazon. It was really a good deal.

I liked how the stories was connected to each other. At the same time, the level of conflicts were a mite to much. Who would have thought past transgressions would be carried to the present. Reviewing each book would take time, so I’ll do this a whole.

From book one to the last book of this collection we are given the lives of the Caedmon Pack, from how their Alpha rises, to the discovery of the Alpha’s half sister. There are disruptions., but at the end of the last book, the Alpha of the opposing side was able to have a good working relationship with the Caedmon pack. Given that one of the Alpha’s half sibling is the mate of the other pack. That settles everything.

There are facets in this series that are a mite different from the rest of the PNR books that I have read. But all in all it was a really good read.

I was able to find the 7th book of the series, but the verdict is still not in considering it was written in first person view. As for now, i am reading another shifter book. A wolf and a dragon. Different authors but great stories.

For this book, I would give it 4 stars.

Stress Reading or Stress Eating?

As I sat in front of my company computer I actually feel wasted. Wasted in terms of the amount of stress I am trying to contain and not show. Well, there are traces of the stress that seeps thru, but not enough to fully settle my mind.

It’s hard to be torn between two duties. As a working mom, i can’t help but ask help from my family. But not all families are receptive like other. In some instances, you need to choose between work and your child.

What is the reason for an individual to look for work? For a single person, it can be for personal, or for the family. How about those people that has children depending on them? The salary they would get keeps them clothed, feed and it keeps the roof over their head. Yes, it is not easy to live with people who sees you as a constant disappointment. The words like “I would be free from everything…” pops ups and it frustrates the hell out of me. Would they ask for help if their situation was good?

So what is the connection between reading and eating?

For me, who’s voice is not heard namely because the people around me do not give a F*** on what happens to me whether I die  or not, those two choices are my outlet.  Stress eating would happen every now and then, it’s not as dire as others but the urge to eat is there. I would look for food that i want and eat it disregarding if it is healthy or not as long as it keeps the depression at bay. And when I say at bay, really at bay.

For Stress reading, let’s just say that in a day, I would open two  or three books and would read them…alternating form one book to another. No, I do not get lost on the story, I would actually remember the plot per book that I read in a week. But its not healthy.

I know, that the things I do are not really good for me. But how will I keep darkness from consuming me? I’ve been in that dark place since elementary days.  And it is not easy.

Depression is a constant companion of mine. For some, they would thing nothing of it, Why? i do not look like I am in battle with it. But in reality,  I am…and as the years add the day pass, it’s getting harder for me to overcome it. If not for books and food…I would be a wasted person.

Oh, i know i should not thing like this, i have two kids that needs me. But a battered and bruise soul and persona could only take too much.

For now, i would go back reading the books that are currently making my mind sane.

But tell me, if you would have a choice between reading and eating, which would you choose?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love how this book was set. The reality of Nix and Kadence situation is so true, especially for mothers. I was in that state, but the difference between her and me is the I was able to divert my frustration thru books. The number of books i read after my birth was at least 2 per day. I don’t have much of the self confidence, but I do felt like crap after the birth of my first baby.

Nix, however do not know how to cope up. But as you read here he is coming from and hop he tires to lift his wife, you can really feel that he loves her so much.

The end was really something to look forward to. Given that Jesse was the one who baby sat Low and Z. It leaves you a question who Belle is. And on that note, i need to go back reading their book till next book!

Nice Girl Naughty

Nice Girl Naughty: Romance: Contemporary Romance, Suspense Romance
Nice Girl Naughty: Romance: Contemporary Romance, Suspense Romance by Jan Springer

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off this was a free book at Amazon.

I am speechless. The story is short but it is full of interesting thought of the characters and lines. I am spell bound by the way the author wrote the book. I love how this was written and the ending was really really nice.

I for one would want a guy like Nick. Who wouldn’t? The way the author describe his eyes…it was breathtaking. I can clearly see myself as Summer.

Summer on the other hand can be considered as one very very strong woman. In spite of what happen to her, she pushed through. And became successful; her naughty and nice, ~vice versa~ attitude was really good.

Simple yet touching.

Dark Alpha’s Claim (Reaper #1)

Dark Alpha's Claim
Dark Alpha’s Claim by Donna Grant

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

St. Martin’s Press gave me permission to review this book, via Netgalley.

This is another one of those series, within the series. Ms. Grant did an amazing job when she created this world. The timing was impeccable, with what is happening to the Dragon Kings, Dark and Light Fae, this is one great tipping point.

The characters were given a very unique out look, Death and the Reapers, I was supersize who Death was and the possible paring…with the main story, simple yet the element if ensnaring the readers are there. What would happen? Will the half-Fae Prince be safe? What about those half bloods, will they be safe?

Another layer, another great series to wait for. I can’t for the next book.

Hero of a Highland Wolf (Heart of the Wolf #14)

Hero of a Highland Wolf
Hero of a Highland Wolf by Terry Spear

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another great book finished! yeas, it took time to read this series again, but can you blame me? It’s not easy to read a series where there are books that do not hold the same candles as the rest. It leaves a tasteless feel in the mouth. But i was so happy with this book.

It took me up to the second chapter to connect the dots. I was really surprise that Colleen was Julia’s BF, and boy it was really hilarious when the Grant’s brothers found out. I love how the initial meeting was describe. I mean come on! swords play? and a feast? but the best part was when she just accepted everything!

Grant? OMG! He was soooo hot! I love his attitude! Even his take control situation, but you really have to admit, when Coleen gave the order, he was not able to do anything. He actually gave in, which made everything endearing!

Over all, it was a really nice book. It’s good to know that the people in that part of the country knew each other. Like the pack in the States.

Next up? Calla and Guthrie’s book! Now this, i got to read!

Smoldering Hunger: Part 3

In this part, doubts  sets in. Con being Con, trying so hard to protects the Kings, and Reapers, making talking about Rhi. Yes, they are part of the world, but they have their story line. Being a Myth in the world of the Fae, they need to be involve.

This is also where trust began to form. Then again, would the truth be accepted or not?

I love how Rhi, talks to Con. The bada** persona, it made more humane than Con at the moment. But we can never blame Con.  The Kings have suffered, they hurt, so he is only doing what he can.

Also, what is with the Reaper wanting to be seen?

Below, is one of the scene that i like best:

“I applaud Balladyn for having the balls to go after Rhi.”

“You know what’ll happen if they get together?” Cael asked in a voice filled with shock. “Rhi will turn Dark.”

“You don’t know that. None of us do. She could return him to a Light Fae.”

“If their love is true,” Cael pointed out.

That was the catch. True love. Some scoffed at the idea, but it was out there. Most humans settled for the first person that came into their lives that they could see themselves with. Others didn’t know true love was standing right before them and kept looking.

Smoldering Hunger: Part 2

The second part of Smoldering Hunger focus on how Darius finally admits his own feeling to Sophie at the same time Con having the conversation between him and Ulrik. Well, Rhi was also, there but only as the mediator. But more importantly, it was in between these chapters where you be happy that Rhi finally regains consciousness .

This part of the book, especially the last part where in Rhi questions Con was so frustrating, add in Balladyn, case, its a mixture of irritation and confusion. It leaves the question, “Why?” Dangling in every directions that a reader might want to solve.

Smoldering Hunger: Part 1

This is the first part of the book. From chapter one to eleven.

The opening is very nice. It gives us how Sophie feels, and how she remembers Darius’s touch and how it made her feel. Her resolution to not succumbed to his memories alas…it was not working…

Darius on the other hand still tries to eliminate the Dark, at the same tine erase Sophie’s memories but then again, will it work?

As part one progress, it made me frustrated on Sophie’s part and i wanted to hit Darius. More importantly, i want to know what Ulrick want…and why…
